Questions and answers of the customers
- A No, but that's the least of their problem, the heart rate monitoring is totally inaccurate.
- A Tracks Spo2, averages while you sleep and you can measure anytime.
- A Hey Garmin, get with the program! Sure, there is a large option for the black version but apparently this isn’t it, although it doesn’t actually say that anywhere. Maybe think for even one second before answering. Sheesh.
- A It will work on its own ONCE you download the app and do all the settings. I had connected mine via Bluetooth to set up. However after it wouldn’t pair with the newer iPhone update, it still measured steps, stairs, activity and date/time- just no more connection to app on phone even after trouble shooting per instructions on Garmin site!
- A I think they did.
- A I returned this. I didn’t want to charge it all the time. I got a Vivio without the heart rate
- A Yes
- A Either through Garmin or im pretty sure Amazon.
- A Yes. The APP tracks it 24/7. It only drops out when you take it off.
- A As a new owner, (so far) my answer is...yes, it seems to work independently, however when you want more information sinc the app. I have learned to turn the bluetooth feature from the garmin off when I don't need the app and turn it on and let all the data sinc. All your information is on the band, for example: how many steps you've taken, reminders, or whatever you want it to do. I hope this helps?
- A The band size is written in the description on the title. The should have a clear option/selection for sizes/colors so that buyers will be aware of them. I have bought the wrong size because I have missed to read the size in the description.
- A Mine does not but I can manually add the time I spent doing yoga or pilates and it estimates the calories burned
- A It is an APP. The APP comes in Android or Apple.
- A It’s fairly small. It’s about 8”, and will fit wrists up to maybe 7.75”.
- A Hi, I believe you can use it without a smart phone by using Garmin connect online.I would suggest following up with garmin.com before purchasing.
- A Nope. For smaller wrist but did fit mine. No spare though
- A everything without alert message, music control and weather info
- A About 1/3 of an inch wide
- A I’ve compared it with a pulse oximeter on the same hand. Took a reading following instructions (stay still, arm raised at heart level). If worn the traditional way, the spo2 reading is off by 3% (a 98% on pulse ox will read 95% on the Garmin) consistently for me. If worn the way they recommend (further above the arm) for a sp02 reading, it is accurate and matches an oximeter.
- A The Garmin Connect app will run on an Android phone.
- A It is suppose to track flights of stairs. Had a replacement because the first one did not. The new one was only slightly better. Counted 3 out of 6 flights of stairs. Was almost better at counting descending flights.
- Q How do you know what size band you are ordering? i see no choices and the cs rep didn't know either!A I ordered two of these, one large (for my husband) and one regular (for me). The one with the large band says it’s a large band in the description, but the regular band doesn’t mention size. So if it doesn’t say it’s a large band then it should be a regular band. I hope that helps.
- Q Does this have an altimeter ? The specs on garmin.com says it has one. How accurate is the reading ?A It does have this feature. It is fairly accurate but also tracks hills you may be in riding on a bike or golf cart. Not just those when your climbing.
- A I have had a similar vivoSmart HR model. .... for about 4 years. Garmin customer service has been AWESOME. They have sent me replacements at no charge. yes, the little band that holds the extended strap has broken twice; now I just use Rainbow Loom rubberbands to hold it - colorful! I also had the band crack off when I smashed into the door frame. They replaced that as well. I have been pleased with my watch overall.
- A Good question!
- A Mine won't. I have to tap it to wake it up then scroll to get to the heart rate screen each time. However, I'm still learning about all of the things it will do.
- A Not sure what you mean by non wireless. This uses blue tooth to connect to an app on your phone.
- A My wrist is 7” and I still have 5 holes to tighten further or about a third of the band. I cannot answer with certainty on the second question but my opinion is it would.
- A Hello, this is Ken from Illuminated Hosters. I'm contacting you back regarding the hosting upgrade due to the new traffic surge your site has been getting. You can reach me +1-484-291-1587. Talk to you then.
- A This was an upgrade for a Garmin that lasted almost two years. After that length of time most users are ready to upgrade. I am very satisfied with this tracker. Sure I will upgrade later.
- A Does this have a way to automatically email or message someone else if looks like my pulse or oxygen levels indicate that dying/unconscious/possibly in trouble?
- A For me - the battery lasts around 7 days before needing to be charged
- A I bought the large. It will fit most wrists. Hope this helps.
- A Yes, use Garmin Express software.
- A This happened to me; I glued it back on with a low viscosity super glue (very little needed). Mine has remained waterproof. GArmin's online warranty service system said I'd have to pay for a replacement, which is just a little cheaper than a new one, so I figured self repair was the best option.
- A I'm not sure about those two, but I can get notifications from many different apps on mine, so I had to turn some off.
- A Yes and no. During a manual exercise, yes, your HR can display at all times. But in regular non-exercise mode there isn’t a watch face with time and HR which is strange to me but within the app you can go to device settings, appearance, home widget and select “last displayed” as your home widget. From your tracker, go to your HR and leave it on that screen, when you flip your wrist it will stay on HR for a bit, not permanently though. One thing you can do is set HR to be the second screen in the app under widgets which makes it a little faster to get to your HR.
- A Not from the Garmin Connect app.
- A There is a cable included that attaches to the watch that you plug in to charge it.
- A Yes it tracks both indoor and outdoor rowing but I don’t think it predicts calories burned on the activity but instead on the time of duration, heart rate and user data input such as weight, height, age etc.
- A You have the standard amazon 30 day return window.
- A Hi Ken, this model doesn't use a regular battery like the earlier models. It required USB recharging. I was not happy with the way it inaccurately tracked my sleep, and went completely blank if out of Wi-Fi range, so I couldn't see anything when traveling. I ended up returning it and buying the Vivofit 3, which does use a battery with a one-year lifespan, and it seems much more accurate regarding my sleep patterns--and the watch stays function regardless of Wi-Fi accessibility. Good luck.
- A I think it uses a number of things to calculate calories burned during a workout. Not only heart rate, but your age, height, weight and the exercise type itself. I find the heart rate and steps quite accurate.
- A Yes you can disable bluetooth from the watch itself by tapping the menu button, the phone icon, then the bluetooth symbol, then switching bluetooth to off.
- A Think you should be fine since it's only sparks you will deal with. The band is made with a rubber type material. Hope this helps
- A Yes
- A Yes, it can. You just need to set it for whichever activity you are currently doing.
- A By downloading your info off the watch onto your phone, you can see pretty close to timing. That said, the watch itself shows your stats.
- A THE HEART MONITOR IS INTERNAL.
- A Yes you can turn it off via DND on the tracker itself anytime you want. Or more permanently you can go to Phone Notifications on the app and choose whether or not you want notifications both for “during an activity” and also “not during an activity”. From each of those menus you can choose all notifications, calls only, calls and texts.
- A You'll need to have the Bluetooth turned on to get alerts. An Alarm is the only thing you can have set up that does not require Bluetooth. Blake with Garmin
- A You can set alarms on the device, however, the vibration would be the same for any alarm. For more information on alarms, please go to support.garmin.com for FAQ's and video's on functions of the device. Blake with Garmin
- A Watch Youtube video. https://youtu.be/SNBJJXjtpBo
- A Yes, it will store data and you can sync later. Blake with Garmin
- Q Does the tracker has to be connected to phone for sleep tracking? I turn off my phone at nights...A You can sync with your phone in the morning to see your sleep data. The device will store the data and will upload once you sync. Blake with Garmin
- A I used a Fitbit charge 2 before I got the Garmin Vivosmart 4. I compared readings from two trackers wearing one on left wrist and one on right. I thought Fitbit 2 recorded activity better than Garmin. I tried this for three days. Garmin readings were lower than Fitbit. I switched wrists to see if there was a difference, but results were the same. Think Garmin is less accurate especially recording sleep activity, steps, distance, and stairs climbed. Steps and flights of stairs climbed matched counts I made and what was recorded on Fitbit.
- A They all only offer S/M except the black band you can also get in L.
- A No, only minutes, hours.
- A I don’t think so
- A The band is very thin
- A You should do the online chat with them , if they are not able to resolve issues , and unit is still under warranty - they have a good history of replacing faulty producst
- A To confirm Joseph's response you go to the Menu and select the man with the heart icon and then select the circle with the X inside. If you tap that icon it will measure Pulse Ox. On the app it should be under your My Day list. Blake with Garmin
- A You may set up the device to use the 'Gesture' feature to turn the display on. This setting is found in Garmin Connect. As Jason M and Dale commented you may also tap the screen. Blake with Garmin
- A The device doesn't have an 'always on', but you can set the device for Gesture so when you rotate your wrist toward your body the display will come on. This preserves battery life. Blake with Garmin
- A To confirm what KT Fitz has stated the device does not have an 'Airplane' mode as it sync using Bluetooth with your phone. Blake with Garmin
- A Yes. When you open the app on your phone with the tracker within range it syncs. You can watch the progress of the sync in the app at the top. You can also plug it in to your computer and upload data to Garmin Express.
- A There are not other bands for this device as it is all one unit. The band cannot be replaced on this device. Blake with Garmin
- A If you tap on the messasge icon you can read the message on the device. You cannot answer the text on the watch, you must reply to it on the phone. You can tap the touchscreen and select the checkmark to accept the call on your smartphone but you have to talk into your phone or if you have a bluetooth headset paired with the phone you can accept the call on the device and speak into the headset. - A It doesn't have GPS
- A Yes, the Vivosmart 4 has a bluetooth enabled remote control feature for a phone's music player. I never owned the older version, so I can't say if the feature is identical.
- A Small band
- A No, but I tried wearing my Vivofit on my ankle once and someone thought it was an ankle monitor from court LOL. Needless to say, I never wore it on my ankle again рџЃ. I ended up sending my Vivosmart 4 back, wouldn't stay connected to bluetooth, but I understand that they have fixed to software.
- A Yes, although check your wrist measurements because the regular size is really meant for a smaller wrist. The large would be better for men, or women with bigger bone.
- A No....the band is not large at all.
