- Hi Ken, this model doesn't use a regular battery like the earlier models. It required USB recharging. I was not happy with the way it inaccurately tracked my sleep, and went completely blank if out of Wi-Fi range, so I couldn't see anything when traveling. I ended up returning it and buying the Vivofit 3, which does use a battery with a one-year lifespan, and it seems much more accurate regarding my sleep patterns--and the watch stays function regardless of Wi-Fi accessibility.
